Had a one hour trip around Salem. Would have learnt more except we couldn't understand the guy who was our guide. He spoke quickly and with some odd accent. Stuck to the wooden seat as it was hot.

When the tour was over we wandered around a bit and then stopped for ice cream. Lots of French people around. Not quite sure why. Went back to car and drove the short distance to Boston. Found the hotel fairly easily.
Omni Parker House
Checked in, dumped our stuff and then got back into the car to take it to the rental drop off. Needed to get fuel first, so hatched a simple plan. Drive to the drop off point, use sat nav to find nearest gas station to it, get gas then drive back to drop off. So simple.
First part worked a treat. Drove to drop off point. Took about 5 minutes. Set sat nav to find nearest fuel stop. Took us a couple of mins to get there. No gas station. OK, lets go to the next nearest one. Takes us a couple more minutes. Get there. No gas station. Can start to see pattern. This time choose one which has a proper fuel name. Get there. Gas station. Fill with gas. Set sat nav to take us back to drop off. Get stuck in rush hour traffic. Finally get to drop off. All in all it takes us ninety minutes. Want to punch Boston in the face.
Leave car. Had driven a total of 3077 miles.
Walk back to hotel. Relax for a bit before heading out for dinner. Go to the Hub Pub just around the corner.

Not too bad. Find a shop to stock up on supplies as stuff in the room is expensive. Water is $7 for a bottle!
Back now and deciding what to do tomorrow.
